TASS quoted Chairwoman of the Russian Federation Council Valentina Matvienko as saying that Russia and Vietnam will monitor the negotiations of agreements. Ria Novosti News agency posted an article saying that Chairman of Russian State Duma Volodin Viktoroviсh sees the need for a new mode of operation of the Russia-Vietnam Inter-Parliamentary Committee to increase bilateral trade and attract investment. According to Russian television 1tv, Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said at a meeting with Ms. Ngan that their bilateral relationship is strategic, long-term, and developing sustainably.
