(VOVWORLD) - Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin on Saturday signed a decree to coordinate and support the reception of evacuees from Ukraine and from Donetsk and Lugansk in eastern Ukraine.

Russian local authorities will receive evacuees from the conflict in Donbass within an agreed quota, with priority given to relatives of Russian citizens and residents of this area.
The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) estimates that as of Friday, nearly 2.6 million people had been displaced since Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine, most of whom fled to Poland and 105,000 others fled to Russia.
On Saturday, the Polish Parliament passed a bill to help war refugees from Ukraine. The bill needs to be approved by the President to take effect. According to the Polish Border Guard Service, the country has received nearly 1.6 million evacuees from Ukraine.
