(VOVworld) – A seminar marking the 40^th anniversary of Quang Tri’s Liberation Day took place on Thursday in Dong Ha city, Quang Tri province.

Military historians and veterans delivered speeches on the offensive to liberate Quang Tri province in 1972. Earlier, they laid wreaths at war memorials to the martyrs of the 81-day defence of Quảng Trị Citadel. Lieutenant General Le Ma Luong fought in the battle to defend the Citadel: "Though the war ended 40 years ago, I have mixed feeling coming here. I feel great anguish at the great sacrifice of our soldiers during the struggle for national independence. But I also feel happy to see a lot of changes in Quang Tri".
