(VOVWORLD) - A seminar was held in Hanoi in Friday to focus on promoting internal trade and investment for a cohesive and responsive ASEAN.

Attended by experts and policy makers from Vietnam and other countries in the region, the event examined measures to boost trade and investment in ASEAN by addressing institutional and policy barriers, maximizing global value chain participation, and improving seamless logistics. They also worked on solutions to realize the ASEAN Community Vision 2025 and promote the bloc’s role in recent world complications.
Vietnam’s Deputy Foreign Minister Nguyen Quoc Dung said that Vietnam, as the ASEAN Chair in 2020, will give priority to intra-connection in trade and investment. He added that Vietnam hopes to receive support from regional countries, the ASEAN Secretariat, and its partners on this priority to build a strong, united, sustainable, and resilient ASEAN.
