Sinh village welcomes Lunar New Year with wrestling festival
(VOVWORLD) - Thousands of residents and visitors are participating in a traditional wrestling festival which began Friday in Sinh village in Hue city.

The Sinh Village Wrestling Festival has been held during the first days of each Lunar New Year over the past four centuries. Pham Cong Nhuan, Chairman of the village’s Clan Council, said:
“This tradition has been passed down through generations. Villagers, no matter where they are, return home to celebrate the New Year and participate in the wrestling festival to pray for favorable weather and a bountiful harvest,” Pham Cong Nhuan, Chairman of the village’s Clan Council, said.
The festival has been modernized but still preserves some traditional elements. There are wrestling competitions in several age groups, including youths and teenagers.
