South Africa’s Freedom Day celebrated in Vietnam

(VOVworld) - Vietnam is an important trade partner of South Africa in Asia, said South African Ambassador Kgomotso Ruth Magau on Wednesday in Ho Chi Minh City at the celebration of the 20th anniversary of South Africa’s Freedom Day. She spoke highly of the close relationship since 1950 between Vietnam and South Africa who are still working together to boost economic development and improve people’s lives in both countries.

She said: “The relationship between our 2 countries has grown. This is the reason why we’re all exerting our efforts to consolidate and strengthen friendship between the two peoples while exploring our opportunities for cooperation in other areas, in particular, trade and industry. Our relations are at a point where we can confidently further our engagement with Vietnam on strategic issues.”
In her speech, Magau recalled the struggle for national liberation and the great strides made by the South African people over the past two decades.
