After the opening ceremony on Monday, visitors applauded a boat racing competition on Dak Bla River.

Deputy Director of the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Nguyen Xuan Truyen said 84 athletes have competed in this year’s race.

“This year’s spring festival aims to uphold the finest tradition of local ethnic culture and folk arts to celebrate a joyful new year and strengthen cultural connectivity in the community,” he said.

The 3-day festival includes gong performances, traditional dances, puppetry and gastronomy shows.
