The President said that in the past over five decades, Vietnam and Belgium have emerged as key partners across multiple fields, including politics, diplomacy, trade, investment, education, health care, environmental protection, and sustainable development. Both nations have also worked closely at multilateral forums, particularly as members of the UN Human Rights Council for the 2023-2025 tenure, according to President Luong Cuong.
“With the success of the talks between the King and me, and the heartfelt support of the King and Queen, based on the good traditional friendship and cooperation between the two countries, I have strong faith in a bright future in the relationship between the two countries. We continue to join hands to develop the friendship in a more practical and effective manner for the benefit of the two peoples, for peace, stability and development of the region and the world,” the President said.
King Philippe said the close relationship between Vietnam and Belgium has harmoniously linked the past, present, and future. Today, the new partnership between the two countries shines, showing a bright future built on the foundation of peace, prosperity and integration, he added.
