(VOVworld) – On Tuesday a delegation of the Steering Committee for the Southwestern Region led by committee member Tran Huu Hiep visited and congratulated Khmer people in Tra Vinh province on their Chol Chnam Thmay festival.

They also visited and presented gifts to the province’s patriotic monks, the Pali-Khmer Tra Vinh college, a number of Khmer pagodas, and families of revolutionary veterans in the province. Mr. Hiep praised the unity between the Kinh, Chinese Vietnamese, and Khmer and their contributions to local development. Tra Vinh province has implemented a number of projects to improve the lives of the Khmer and preserve their traditional cultural values.
