(VOVworld) – A suicide bomber exploded his vest on Sunday in the Attock district of Punjap province, Pakistan, killing 10 people and wounding 20 others, including Shuja Khanzada, the Home Minister of Punjab province.

The explosion occurred as Khanzada was conducting a “jirga" or tribal council in his home district. Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif condemned the attack and asked local authorities and hospitals to provide the wounded all necessary treatment. The group Laskhar-e-Jhangvi (LeJ) claimed responsibility for the attack, saying it was revenge for the death of its chief commander Malik Ishaq last month.
