Summer camp for young overseas Vietnamese to open
(VOVworld) – The 2013 summer camp for young overseas Vietnamese will take place from July 10 to 30, starting from Vietnam’s northernmost province of Ha Giang and ending in the southernmost province of Ca Mau. This year marks the 10th anniversary of the camp.
Nguyen Thanh Son, Deputy Foreign Minister and Head of the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs, said: “Joining this year’s summer camp, young overseas Vietnamese will learn about Vietnam’s history and language and hold exchange activities with domestic youths and youths of Vietnamese origin from all around the world. The summer camp is in line with Resolution 36 of the Politburo, which encourages overseas Vietnamese to feel more responsible for their homeland’s development”.
About 150 campers will stop at Hung Kings’ Temples, visit President Ho Chi Minh’s mausoleum, attend a requiem for martyrs in Ha Giang and Ho Chi Minh city and go sight seeing throughout Vietnam.
