(VOVworld) – A symposium was held in Hanoi on Friday applauding acting President Huynh Thuc Khang as a resilient and exemplary communist, an excellent leader of the Party and the State, and an undaunted revolutionary soldier of the international communist movements.

Entitled ‘Comrade Huynh Thuc Khang in the Vietnamese Revolution and his Hometown Quang Nam’, the event marked the 140^th birth anniversary of acting President Huynh Thuc Khang.

Participants analyzed the factors – homeland, family, clan, nation, era, and dignities which strongly influenced the personality, desire for national salvation, and life of patriot Huynh Thuc Khang.

Discussions at the meeting highlighted his great contributions and role in Vietnam’s revolution in various fields, insisting that Huynh Thuc Khang was an enthusiastic patriot who had devoted his whole life to the national independence struggle.

His talents were particularly obvious when he participated in the revolutionary government and undertook the role of acting President of the nascent Democratic Republic of Vietnam in 1946 and stood in for President Ho Chi Minh during his time in France for peace talks.  

Vo Van Thuong, head of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Communication and Education, said: “The workshop is an opportunity for us to pay tribute to patriotic scholar Huynh Thuc Khang and his great merits. It also offers us a chance to follow the shining example of Huynh Thuc Khang who always put the interests of the Party, the national revolution, and the people first, embracing all hardships and making contributions to the revolutionary movement. I hope that the symposium will help us better understand our responsibility toward the building of national solidarity.”
