(VOVworld) - The Syrian military is ready to cease firing in the Syrian town of Khan Sheikhoun if experts come to investigate the recent chemical attack there, said the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Monday.

According to German Foreign Minister Sigmar Gabriel, a truce can only be achieved with the help of Russia - the only country with “real influence” over the Syrian regime. Gabriel said a political solution must address Russian, US, and regional interests, including Jordan’s, and that Europe should play an active role because it is being directly affected by the civil war, already taking in millions of refugees.
