Taliban announces 3-day ceasefire in Afghanistan
(VOVWORLD) - Taliban insurgents said Monday they will observe a three-day ceasefire in Afghanistan for a Muslim religious holiday this week.

They said they will halt all attacks in Afghanistan for 3 days of the Eid al-Fitr festival, which marks the end of the Muslim Ramadan month, but will retaliate if attacked.
The statement came 2 days after the Afghan government accused the Taliban of a bombing incident near a school that killed 50 people, most of them little girls.
