With 4 points after 1 win, 1 draw and 8 losses, the Vietnamese men have been out of the running for a spot in Qatar later this year.
For the first time competing in the third qualifying round of the World Cup, Vietnam became the first Southeast Asian team to secure a win in this final round with a 3-1 victory over the Chinese team in the February 1 match.
