(VOVworld) – Thai Deputy Prime Minister, Surapong Tovichakchaikul, said on Tuesday that the caretaker government could control the situation despite upcoming rallies by both anti and pro-government demonstrators, scheduled for next Saturday. The Thai Deputy Prime Minister reiterated that the Internal Security Act (ISA), which applied in Bangkok and neighbouring areas, would help the government control the situation and avoid clashes.
On the same day, Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Thai Army, Prayuth Chanocha, said that the army had a duty to protect the people and believed that there would be no harm to demonstrators.
