Thanh Chiem Bastion was established in 1602 in the Nguyen Dynasty. Monday's event aimed to promote the relic’s cultural and historical values, and Quang Nam’s tourism and socio-economic development. Le Tri Thanh, Vice Chairman of the Quang Nam provincial People’s Committee, said: “Only a few traces and relics of the glorious Thanh Chiem Bastion now remain, but the Bastion’s cultural and historical values have been honored. Quang Nam province has cooperated with relevant agencies and research institutions to promote these values.”
Dien Ban district will allocate 12,000 m2 for exhibiting items and documents related to the Bastion and the Vietnamese Script. Thanh Chiem Bastion was recognized as a provincial relic in 2008 and as a national relic this year.
