(VOVworld) – The 6th Vietnam Folk Singing Festival for the southern region wrapped up in the Mekong Delta province of Dong Thap on Saturday. During the 3-day festival, about 200 professional and amateur artists from 12 provinces showcased unique cultures through various songs and dances.
The Art Council of the organizing board selected 14 best performances to participate in the final round of the National Vietnam Folk Singing Festival in Nghe An province next Tues.
Nguyen Thi My Lien, Chairwoman of the Art Council, said: “Aiming to restore and introduce the original versions of songs and dances, art troupes brought to the festival original performances. The festival saw many young artists. There is a 4-year-old performer in a family troupe. It’s a positive sign for the preservation and promotion of traditional art.”
