Chip makers including Intel, Qualcomm, Xilinx and Broadcom have told their employees they will not supply Huawei till further notice, according to people familiar with their actions. And Google cut off the supply of hardware and some software services to the Chinese giant. Google has barred phone Huawei off from some updates to the Android operating system. New Huawei smart phones will also lose access to popular Google apps. The move comes after the Trump administration added Huawei to a list of companies that American firms cannot trade with unless they have a licence. Huawei will no longer get Google's security updates and technical support, and any new devices will no longer have apps such as YouTube and Maps.
