(VOVworld) – Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Ha Cong Tuan said the TPP agreement will provide leverage for Vietnam’s agricultural development.

At a ministry press conference on Tuesday, Tuan said Vietnam’s agricultural sector will have the opportunity to access an expanded market of 600 million people, which will help Vietnam reduce dependence on its traditional markets. Tuan said when the TPP agreement comes into force most agricultural products will be tax-free, which will lead to fierce competition. Tariff reductions will create opportunities to attract investment in agricultural restructuring.
