(VOVWORLD) - More trade promotion activities should be organized to enhance connections and tap into potential export markets for Vietnam's furniture, textiles, and footwear, heard a trade promotion conference of Vietnam’s overseas foreign trade offices.

Held in Hanoi on Monday, the conference discussed difficulties facing Vietnamese exporters which have been caused by the Russia-Ukraine conflict and the COVID-19 pandemic.
Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Do Thang Hai said that amid numerous difficulties in the domestic and overseas markets, the importance of trade promotion is heightened. Trade promotion is an important, effective solution to improve three growth drivers of investment, export, and consumption. It plays a pivotal role in enhancing investment market expansion and export facilitation, he said.
The Government and Prime Minister are asking ministries, sectors, and localities to implement solutions to address the challenges and stimulate growth.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade is implementing measures to bolster domestic production and trade, and diversify supply sources and partnerships. The Ministry is also intensifying trade promotion efforts, expanding market reach, solidifying its position in markets with established free trade agreements, and working closely with relevant ministries and branches to help businesses overcome trade barriers and facilitate the export of Vietnamese goods.
