The Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers reported that in 2021, tuna exports earned 757 million USD, up 16.6% in 2020. Exports of all product lines, except for canned tuna, rose last year, of which, tuna fillets expanded the most (41%).
The early reopening and fast growth of Vietnam’s largest consumers, including the US, the EU, Israel, Italy, Canada, and Japan, is attributed to its increasing tuna exports, which have surged 143% to Mexico and 201% to Israel.
