(VOVworld) – Ukraine will assure the safety of the humanitarian aid convoy, but Russia and Ukrainian opposition force will bear responsibilities in their controlled regions, said Ukraine’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson Yevhen Perebiynis Tuesday.

He added that Ukraine will only receive aid which is under the sponsorship of the International Committee of the Red Cross. Russia said it hopes the first humanitarian aid package will be transported to Ukraine in the next few hours, after passing through security checks. Russia is expecting the head of the ICRC in Europe and Central Asia, Laurent Corbaz, in Moscow to discuss Russia’s humanitarian aid convoy to south-eastern Ukraine.
