UN Chief: global climate crisis reaches point of no return
(VOVWORLD) - The devastating impact of global warming that threatens humanity is a consequence of nature being under assault, UN Chief Antonio Guterres warned Sunday ahead of the 25th UN Climate Change Conference (COP 25) which opened on Madrid, Spain, on Monday.

He decried the "utterly inadequate" efforts of the world's major economies to curb carbon pollution.
According to a UN Environment Program (UNEP) report published last week, unless global greenhouse gas emissions fall by 7.6% each year in the next decade, the world will miss the opportunity to get on track towards the 1.5°C temperature increase goal set by the Paris Agreement.
