(VOVworld)-A meeting between Russia’s foreign affairs minister Sergei Lavrov and UN-Arab League peace envoy Lakhdar Brahimi has begun in Moscow.

The talks focus on an array of political and diplomatic issues around the Syrian conflict and Mr. Brahimi’s latest effort in stopping 21 month long political crisis in Syria and to launch a nation-wide dialogue between President Assad’s regime and the opposition. The Foreign Minister earlier said that Russia hoped that opposition forces in Syria will participate actively in the dialogue to end the political deadlock and it should be handle by Syrian people.
