US continue sanctions on Russian citizens, entities
(VOVWORLD) - The US Department of Treasury on Monday imposed sanctions on 3 Russian individuals and 5 entities, accusing them of providing material and technological support to Moscow's intelligence service in an effort to conduct cyber attacks against the US.

The Department said in a statement that the sanctioned entities and individuals have directly contributed to improving Russia's cyber and underwater capabilities through their work with the Russian Federal Security Service and therefore jeopardize the safety and security of the US and its allies.
The US Department of Treasury blamed Russia for last year’s NotPetya malware attack targeting the US’s electricity network and unilaterally accused Russia of spying the US’s underwater information cable network.
