(VOVworld) – Vietnam has made positive and important progress in economic management and investment environment improvement in 2014, said Bill Witherell, chief global economist of US investment fund Cumberland Advisors in an interview with Vietnam News Agency. He reiterated Vietnam’s efforts to reform its education and training system to improve its human resources’ skills. Vietnam’s loosening regulations on foreign companies’ engagement in domestic companies and policies to boost business equitization have contributed significantly to improving Vietnam’s investment environment. Witherell said that Vietnam’s investment environment plays a key role in the national economic growth and development, adding that Vietnam’s expected growth of 5.7% in 2014 is within reach. He also forecast that Vietnam’s GDP for the coming years would fluctuate around 6 and 7% thanks to increasing foreign investment capital flow that helps boost exports.
