(VOVworld) - Relations between the US and Pakistan have become more strained after the head of the Pakistani Taliban was killed by a US drone strike on Friday.

The Pakistan government said Islamabad will immediately review relations between Pakistan and the US and close the border crossings used for transferring NATO supplies to Afghanistan. The Pakistani government said the US drone strike which killed Taliban leader Hakimullah Mehsud violated their sovereignty and sabotaged their peace negotiations with the Taliban. Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs called the US Embassy in Pakistan to lodge a formal protest.
