(VOVworld) – The US Department of Defense said on Thursday that US and Russian military officials held an online dialogue to de-conflict air operations against IS in Syria.

The same day, Russia’s RIA Novosti news agency quoted the Russian Foreign Ministry as saying that Moscow will consider any proposal made by the Iraqi government regarding air raids on IS.

Earlier, the Russian Defense Department announced that Russia has sent aircraft, marines, paratroopers, and special forces into Syria, where it has launched air strikes against IS. Russia has expanded its naval base in the port city of Tartus and established a military base in Latakia. According to Syria, Russia’s air strikes will create a major change in the fight against IS.
