(VOVworld) – Vietnamese Defense Minister Phung Quang Thanh talks with US Secretary of Defense Ashton Carter in Hanoi on June 1^st.

After talks, the two ministers signed a joint vision statement and held a joint press conference. During his stay in Vietnam, Carter will pay courtesy visits to Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and President Truong Tan Sang. Earlier, Mr. Carter visited Navy High Command and the High Command of Vietnam Marine Police Region 1 in Hai Phong city.
