(VOVworld) – The Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) agreement will benefit the economies of both Vietnam and the US and is also of strategic importance to other countries.

US Senator Bob Corker, a ranking member of the US Senate’s Foreign Relations Committee, told reporters in Hanoi on Tuesday on the first leg of his Asia tour that on the occasion of the 20^th anniversary of Vietnam-US normalization of relations next year, the two nations should resolve a number of issues, including the TPP, in a constructive manner. Corker said he believes the TPP agreement will be finalized in the next 12-18 months.
Corker also revealed that the US Congress has passed the civil nuclear deal with Vietnam known as Agreement 123, which will take effect in the next few days, bringing Vietnam-US cooperation to a new height.
