According to Finnish national broadcasting company Yle, further talks will take place over the following two days, focusing on the nuclear issue on the Korean Peninsula and the reduction of tensions there. Finnish President Sauli Niinisto said Finland would be prepared to offer services for such future meetings.

South Korea's National Security Office head Chung Eui-yong on Tuesday said his country and the US agreed to ensure the success of upcoming meetings with the North which contributes to peace and stability on the Korean peninsula and the world.

In another development, the two Koreas held working-level talks on Tuesday to discuss a South Korean art troupe's planned performance in Pyongyang next month. The meeting took place in the truce village of Panmunjom, according to Seoul's unification ministry.

South Korea earlier agreed to dispatch its artists and Taekwondo demonstrators to Pyongyang in return for the North’s sending of its art troupe and demonstration team to the 23rd Winter Olympics hosted by South Korea's Pyeongchang last month. Leaders of the two Koreas agreed to hold a summit late next month in the truce village.
