(VOVWORLD) - Chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff Mark Milley said on Monday that the US, South Korea, and Japan should be very closely aligned for their mutual benefit.
He said that the 3 countries must get past some points of friction for the benefit of the alliance. Milley's visit represents a new effort to mediate between Tokyo and Seoul.
General Milley and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe voiced concerns at a meeting on Tuesday over China’s unilateral actions in the East Sea and the East China Sea.
