(VOVworld) – The US asked China not to escalate tensions in the international airspace after Japan accused China of conducting “dangerous actions” in disputed East Sea areas.

US State of Department spokesperson Jen Psaki said Thursday that Washington doesn’t recognise the Air Defense Identification Zone (ADIZ) in the East Sea unilaterally, which was established by China last November and urges Beijing to renounce it. Psaki reiterated that China co-operate with neighbouring countries to build mutual trust by establishing emergency hotlines. She said any attempt to impede travel in the international airspace will generate tensions in the region and called on all countries to ensure airspace security.
