US-Mexico tension rises over troop deployment on border
(VOVWORLD) - US-Mexico relations grew strained after President Donald Trump announced he will send thousands of soldiers to the US border with Mexico.

Mexican Ambassador to the US Geronimo Gutierrez on Thursday sent a note to the US State Department requesting an explanation.
President Trump signed an executive order Wednesday deploying 4,000 National Guard troops to the US-Mexico border to help control illegal immigration and drug smuggling into the US. The Mexican Foreign Ministry said it will stay in contact with US authorities to ensure border security.
