(VOVWORLD) -Vietjet Air will purchase 100 Boeing B737 MAX airplanes, worth a total of 12.7 billion USD, according to a contract signed by Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao, CEO of Vietjet Air and Kevin G. McAllister, President and CEO of Boeing Commercial Airplanes at the Farnborough International Airshow 2018 in the UK on Friday.

Also at the fair, Vietjet Air signed an MoU to buy 50 A321neo Airbus aircraft worth 6.5 billion USD.
Vietjet’s new order will serve the carrier’s development of airline alliances across the region and worldwide. The carrier said in a statement that the deal is also expected to increase bilateral trade turnover between Vietnam and the US.
