Vietnamese athletes win gold medals at ASIAD 2018

Tran DucPhan, Deputy Head of the Vietnam Sports Administration and head of the Vietnam delegation to ASIAD, told the media Thursday: “Prior to the Games, Vietnam aimed 1 gold medal for an Olympic sport. Finally, we won 1gold for rowing and 1 gold for track and field. We also won 2 golds for Pencaksilat, a sport of the host country which is introduced for the first time at an ASIAD. Winning 4 gold medals, we have reached our goal.”

Vietnam has sent a biggest number of athletes ever to an Asian Games, including young athletes, to prepare for SEA Games 2021 in Vietnam. ASIAD 2018 will wrap up on September 2.
