Vietnam active in global medical security program
(VOVworld) – A meeting of the US-initiated Global Medical Security Program opened in Washington DC on Thursday. The purpose of the program is to keep the world safe from dangerous epidemics and infectious diseases. Representatives from a number of major international organizations and 27 nations, including Vietnam and Uganda, which have been chosen to pilot the program, attended the event.

The US Center for Disease Control and Prevention has over the last 2 years assisted Vietnam’s Health Ministry in improving the testing of dangerous epidemics in Hanoi and HCM city. It has also helped to establish the Emergency Operations Center to share information and coordinate with the relevant agencies and international organizations in dealing with matters relating to public health.
