(VOVworld) - Vietnam Airlines flight VN55 took off from Noi Bai international airport and landed at the UK’s biggest airport Heathrow in London on Tuesday, kicking off direct VNA flights between Heathrow and Vietnam’s Noi Bai and Tan Son Nhat airport. At a ceremony at Heathrow to celebrate this event, John Holland-Kaye, Heathrow Airport’s CEO, said Vietnam has become an attractive destination for tourism and business purposes and that Vietnam Airlines’ decision to operate its new Dreamliner 787-9 to Heathrow will help to ensure regular direct flights between the UK and Vietnam. Attending the ceremony were Vietnamese Ambassador to the UK Nguyen Van Thao and representatives from several of the world’s major airlines.
