Vietnam and Laos boost trade cooperation
Vietnam and Laos will continue to seek ways to step up implementation of a trade development scheme until 2015 signed by the two governments which targets two-way trade of 1 billion USD this year. This was the major subject of talks between Minister of Industry and Trade Vu Huy Hoang and his Lao counterpart Nam Viyaketh, who began a visit to Vietnam yesterday. The two ministers agreed to launch more joint trade promotion programmes to advertise each country’s products and create more opportunities for businesses from the two countries to meet and strike trade deals, particularly in the cooperative framework of the East-West corridor. In addition to holding Vietnam-Laos trade fairs in Vientiane, both sides agreed to expand the fairs to various localities in Laos.
