(VOVWORLD) - A Vietnamese delegation led by Deputy Foreign Minister Le Hoai Trung is attending the second Paris Peace Forum in France.

Speaking at a session on the 70th anniversary of the Geneva Conventions, Mr. Trung said Vietnamese people, even during wartime, honor humanism and fundamental human rights such as freedom and independence. Vietnam’s participation in the Geneva Conventions reflects its respect for international law, human rights, and a tradition of peace and humanitarianism. Mr. Trung said Vietnam always does its utmost to honor the commitments of the Geneva Conventions and other international humanitarian laws.
“We are here to show our willingness as a country that loves peace and wants to contribute to peacekeeping efforts and share Vietnam’s experience in related issues,” said Deputy Foreign Minister Trung.
