(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam believes that ASEAN will firmly overcome the COVID-19 pandemic in the near future, said Minister of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs Dao Ngoc Dung.

Addressing the 26th Meeting of the ASEAN Socio-Cultural Community (ASCC) Council which was held virtually on Wednesday, Minister Dung shared Vietnam’s efforts in pandemic control.
“Vietnam with the ASEAN have strived to cope with the COVID-19 pandemic and its serious consequences. The government has stepped up vaccine roll-out in high risk provinces and provided fresh welfare packages to help the affected people. Despite difficulties, I believe that with the spirit of “we care, we prepare and we prosper”, ASEAN will firmly overcome the pandemic in the near future,” Mr. Dung said.
In conclusion, ASEAN Ministers issued a joint statement and agreed in principle 27 documents to be submitted to the 38th ASEAN High-level Meeting in October.
