Speaking at the Ministerial Meeting of the 3G held on the sidelines of the high-level week of the 78th United Nations General Assembly in New York on Wednesday, Deputy Foreign Minister Do Hung Viet proposed four focuses for 3G and G20 cooperation in the coming time, including taking advantage of new growth drivers such as the digital economy, the green economy, the circular economy and energy transition as well as paying attention to sustainable agricultural development to ensure global food security.

The focuses also include continuing to ensure inclusiveness in multilateral processes, promoting the role of ASEAN and strengthening cohesion of the G20 agenda and strengthening partnerships, especially in science, technology and innovation.

Deputy Foreign Minister Viet asked the 3G to continue to ensure inclusiveness in multilateral processes, promote the role of ASEAN, and strengthen the cohesion of the group’s activities and G20’s agenda.

The Global Governance Group is an informal group of smaller and medium-sized countries whose collective aim is to provide greater representation to its member countries and collectively channel their views into the G20 process more effectively. It has 30 member nations including Vietnam.
