Vietnam, Canada boost defense ties
(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam is willing to establish a defense policy dialogue mechanism at the deputy minister level with Canada, said Deputy Defense Minister Nguyen Chi Vinh.

Mr. Vinh made the statement at a reception in Hanoi on Thursday for Derek Joyce, Director General of International Security Policy for Canada’s Department of National Defense.
He proposed that Vietnam and Canada enhance their bilateral partnership in training, settlement of war consequences, UN peacekeeping activities, and defense, which will strengthen both countries’ security and defense and contribute to security in the Asia- Pacific region.
Mr. Joyce pledged to do his best to foster Canada-Vietnam defense relations.
