The event was jointly held by the Chinese Embassy in Vietnam, the Foreign Ministry, Hanoi People’s Committee, and the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) in collaboration with the Boao Forum for Asia.

Addressing the event, Li Baodong, Secretary-General of the Boao Forum for Asia, said since its establishment in 2001, this is the first time the forum was held in Vietnam. He said enjoying longstanding neighboring ties, China has long been Vietnam’s biggest trade partner.

Le Hoai Trung, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, called on the Chinese government at all levels to open more of its market to Vietnam.

Vietnam welcomes new investment waves from China, especially FDI projects with high-tech content with priority given to infrastructure, supporting industry, and agriculture.

Mr. Trung asked Chinese investors and enterprises to attach special importance to environmental protection, labor interests, and participate more in social security activities in Vietnam.
