(VOVWORLD) - Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son held talks with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov in Moscow on Wednesday during his official visit to Russia from Wednesday to Friday.

Both sides agreed to enhance delegation exchanges across Party, State, parliamentary, and people-to-people diplomacy channels. They said it is important to strengthen cooperation between their foreign ministries and expand collaboration in energy, transportation infrastructure, logistics, science, technology, agriculture, biomedicine, culture, tourism, education, and training.
Deputy PM Son said Vietnam regards Russia as one of the most trusted strategic partners in Vietnam’s foreign affairs. He requested Russia’s continued support for the Vietnamese community in Russia, to ensure their living, studying, and working conditions. Mr. Son proposed that Russia consider visa exemptions for Vietnamese citizens holding ordinary passports.
FM Lavrov said Vietnam is a priority partner for Russia's foreign policy in Asia-Pacific.
