Vietnam contributes to enhancing unity within ASEAN
(VOVworld) – ASEAN great unity days – One vision, one identity, one community opened at the Vietnam National Village of Ethnic Culture and Tourism in Hanoi. Themed “Unity, Cooperation, and Development”, the event introduces the cultures of ASEAN members and Vietnam and promotes mutual understanding and connectivity toward building an ASEAN Community of unity, dynamism, development, and prosperity.

In his opening speech, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh said that since Vietnam joined ASEAN 19 years ago, the country has become a responsible and active member of the grouping:“ASEAN is on the way to become a Community by 2015. An ASEAN Community united in one vision, one identity and one community is the message that ASEAN members are conveying to the world community, in which culture plays an important role, helping to build ASEAN a common house of all ASEAN members. We hope that an ASEAN of unity and effective cooperation will contribute to peace, stability and prosperity in the region and in the interest of each member country and the international community.”
