(VOVWORLD) -The Vietnamese Embassy in Russia coordinated with the Vietnamese Association in Russia to evacuate a group of Vietnamese people from Donetsk, Eastern Ukraine, to Russia and to return home earlier this week.

On Sunday, 11 evacuees, including 4 children, went from Donetsk city to Rostov on Don city, Rostov province of Russia, where they were supported by the Vietnamese community there to move on to the capital Moscow.
On Tuesday evening, representatives of the Embassy took 8 of them to Sheremetyevo International Airport in Moscow to board a flight of Qatar Airways to return to Vietnam on the same day.
Ambassador Dang Minh Khoi said helping compatriots to return home is the responsibility and affection of the Embassy and the Vietnamese community in Russia. He was moved when hearing what evacuees told about the difficulties they had to endure and wished them to overcome difficulties and settle down soon.
