Concerns have recently been raised about an overload of the US health and social security systems as well as policy changes which might be disadvantageous for foreign citizens, Mr. Ngoc said.
He noted the Vietnamese Embassy has asked US officials to ensure the rights and legitimate interests of all Vietnamese citizens living in the US, including extending their visas or granting them new visas. The Embassy will do everything in its power to support Vietnamese citizens, particularly students, he said.
The Embassy continues to follow the Government’s instructions and help Vietnamese citizens book commercial flights organized by Vietnam to return home, said Mr. Ngoc.
