Vietnam encourages digital technology
(VOVworld) – The World Bank announced its World Development Report 2016: Digital Dividends in Hanoi on Monday. World Bank Country Director Victoria Kwakwa said the report stressed the need to popularize an open, cheap, and safe Internet and increase state management to ensure fair competition between businesses.
Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam said Vietnam encourages digital technologies as a way to achieve rapid, sustainable growth and urged businesses and the people to make full use of digital technology.
The report says digital technology development strategies should have a vision wider than information technology and communication development strategies. It also says that countries should create the appropriate environment for technological development to make the most of its benefits.
